Community Guidelines

Real connections require real respect.

Effective May 29, 2026

XO exists to help the global African diaspora meet intentionally. These guidelines apply to every profile, photo, message, voice intro, and interaction on the platform.

Be yourself

  • Use your real name and recent photos of yourself.
  • One account per person. No catfishing, no fake profiles.
  • Complete verification to unlock the full experience.

Be respectful

  • No harassment, hate speech, slurs, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, orientation, or disability.
  • No sexual content, nudity, or solicitation. XO is not a hookup app.
  • No graphic violence, gore, or content glorifying self-harm.
  • Consent matters — never share private photos, messages, or contact info of another member.

Be safe

  • Never send money, crypto, or gift cards to anyone you met on XO.
  • Report romance scams, investment pitches, or off-platform "WhatsApp only" requests immediately.
  • Meet in public the first time. Tell a friend. Trust your gut.

Stay on-platform

  • No advertising, recruiting, escorting, or commercial solicitation.
  • No spam, automation, scraping, or bulk messaging.
  • Do not post links to external dating apps or competing platforms.

Protect minors

XO is strictly 18+. Any content involving minors is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the relevant authorities. Zero tolerance — accounts are banned permanently and devices blocklisted.

Enforcement

Depending on severity, we may:

  • Warn and require profile edits.
  • Hide your profile from discovery.
  • Suspend messaging or matching.
  • Permanently terminate your account and refuse future registration.
  • Refer to law enforcement for criminal conduct.

Report something

Use the in-app "Report" button on any profile or chat, or visit the Safety Center. We review every report and act fast on credible threats.
